Sr. Quantum Researcher (Hardware Solutions)
Qedma
As a hardware solutions researcher, your main role will be to develop all the hardware-specific elements in Qedma’s software stack, for all types of quantum hardware. This includes research and development of everything from characterization protocols for quantum hardware, through error suppression methods, including gate optimization and calibration, all the way to hardware-specific methods of error mitigation. You will integrate Qedma’s software stack with the world’s leading quantum hardware systems and perform demonstrations of our software capabilities on new devices.
Qedma collaborates with the world’s leading quantum hardware companies, giving you the opportunity to work directly with state-of-the-art quantum devices across multiple platforms. The role combines hands-on computational research with theoretical physics of various hardware systems. Each new hardware type presents unique challenges and unexpected noise sources, so creative problem solving will constantly be required. You will be at the forefront of realizing the disruptive potential of quantum computing and turning it into useful technology.
Responsibilities
- Optimizing Qedma’s error reduction methods for all types of quantum hardware.
- Developing hardware-specific methods of error-reduction (gate optimization, error suppression, mitigation, correction, and more) for all types of quantum hardware.
- Developing hardware characterization methods and implementing them on all types of quantum hardware.
- Implementing all the above research into code.
- Integrating Qedma’s product with various hardware and running proof-of-concept demonstrations on them.
Requirements
- PhD in quantum computing, physics, or a related field; or MSc with relevant experience.
- Strong programming skills, preferably in Python.
- Expertise in one or more of the following fields is a strong plus: condensed matter physics (theoretical and experimental), atomic molecular and optical physics (theoretical and experimental), quantum information theory.
- Excellent technical and scientific communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
